The Town Hall of Limpias has collaborated with the SEO-Castro Local Group of the Spanish Society of Ornithology SEO/BirdLife to develop the activities included in the project "The Natura 2000 Network, Birds and Ecotourism: Connecting Limpias with all of Europe. Introduction to Ornithology Course," funded by the General Directorate of European Funds.
This project was created with the intention of promoting knowledge and conservation of biodiversity, enhancing sustainable tourism development, and providing tools to facilitate knowledge and enjoyment of the local birdlife.
Several activities were carried out as part of this, including bird photo exhibitions, drawing contests, talks about the RN2000, conferences, and courses such as scientific ringing or bird watching.
Active tourism is one of the main attractions of the town, with activities such as canoeing being perfect for our surroundings. The company Vive Multiaventura, based in Limpias, is in charge of organising activities like this and others that are in tune with nature, helping to create a bond between the visitor and our environment.
Additionally, they manage sports services, overseeing the municipal gym of Limpias and organising Multi-Activity Camps and Gymkhanas.

Thanks to the activities of the Naturea Cantabria programme, the interpretation centres carry out various nature-related activities, giving visitors the opportunity to explore the natural beauty of Cantabria.
Through the organisation of courses, the aim is to promote canoeing both in Limpias and the surrounding area, educating in sports and environmental values. They organise the Lower Asón River descent from Udalla to Limpias.

Paddle Surf
The Asón River flows through Limpias in the form of a ria (an estuary). With its short course, abundant and calm waters, this location is perfect for water sports such as Paddle Surf.
The Colindres Rowing Club organises the Trainera Race between Limpias and Colindres, inviting rowing clubs each year to participate. The trainera is a traditional Spanish rowing boat, typical of the north of Spain. The usual route starts at the Town Hall of Limpias and heads towards the Colindres dock, where a turn is made before crossing the finish line against the direction of departure. The winner of the event receives a commemorative flag of the regatta.
The Boat Race, organised by the Colindres Rowing Club, takes place during the August festivities, where young rowers compete for the best time.
Nearly one hundred swimmers from all categories compete every August in the Limpias Swimming Cross “Asón Ascent,” organised by the Cantabria Swimming Federation and the Town Hall of Limpias. This event features three competition distances: 5000 m, 800 m, and 400 m. The event, which is the third stage of the Cantabria Swimming Cross Circuit, is also a regional championship for long-distance open water swimming for federated swimmers from Cantabrian clubs in categories A, Master C1, and Master C2, covering the 5 km distance.
Every August, a cycling race takes place in our town, coinciding with the “Cycling Schools Meeting.”
In December, the San Silvestre solidarity race takes place in support of the Amara Association, organised by the Town Hall's Sports Department.
This ride follows an attractive route through dreamlike landscapes, allowing participants to enjoy the surrounding towns and scenery. Every year, trophies and prizes are awarded to the top three finishers in each category, with two refreshment stations along the route and a final barbecue.
This event aims to revive a motorsport competition. It consists of a back-and-forth circuit between Limpias and Liendo.
